Student Placement Opportunties
Due to new client programs, staffing levels, and lack of office space, we regret that we've had to suspend this program until September 2019. If you have any questions about a future student placement, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Street Health offers placement opportunities for students interested in gaining hands-on learning experiences in community health. We have hosted students from various Universities and Colleges in Ontario, including:

- University of Toronto
Areas of Study:
Students come to Street Health from a variety of programs including: Nursing, Medicine, Social Service Worker, Social Work, (BSW and MSW), Assaulted Women’s and Children’s Advocate Program, Pharmacy, etc.
Students can be placed with the Nursing, Community Mental Health Case Management, Harm Reduction and ID programs.
- If you are interested in having a student placement with Street Health, please contact the Clinical Manager. She will contact you to let you know if there is a vacancy for a student placement.
- Students may be expected to go through an interview process before being accepted.
- There are between two to three student placements at any given time and positions are filled on a first come first served basis.
What to expect:
When students have a placement at Street Health they can expect to see the impact of the Social Determinants of Health in action. Our grassroots work is based in a harm reduction model. Students will see the impacts of poverty, trauma, and most importantly, the resilience of the community we work with. Student work can include (but isn’t limited to) participation in advocacy initiatives as well as drop ins and research work. We enjoy working with students and want to be sure they have the best experience.
